I’m on this side of the window……..

(This blog occurred to me when I wished for a proper winter and the lack of it, all within 5 hours. It made me think of all those people who spend their lives, curled up on the roads, in chilling cold, hoping for the winter to end, before their lives give up)………

On this side of the window:

The fire is warm and burning

The soup is hot an inviting

The blanket is thick and imported

The books are interesting

The conversations are cheerful

Life is beautiful

On that side of the window:

There’s a deep longing for fire, SOME fire, some warmth

There’s a deep longing for food, SOME food, something to eat

There’s a deep longing for something to sleep in, rags, SOME rags

There’s a deep longing for something to spend the night with, ANYTHING at all

There’s a deep longing for something cheerful to say, SOMETHING happy

There’s a deep longing for a life, SOME life, ANY life………….

good one… good contrast. itz only when we look out of the window, do we realize that what we have is something that we should be really grateful for!

    Thanks Ananth……

And yes Neha, it surely set me thinking as to how disparate the world can be!

Vinod, agreed. No one knows what tomorrow holds for us. On this day, what we have is what we must truly cherish. There are so many more unfortunate ones who can never even imagine being in a life as good as ours!!!

    And I agree Chandra……….
